Jersey Crimestoppers are seeking an enthusiastic marketing professional or student to join their team of volunteers. As marketing officer, the primary purpose of the volunteer role is to assist the Jersey Crimestoppers Board in planning and implementing a local marketing strategy, across multiple channels. About Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers is an independent charity that is committed to preventing and solving crime. It does this by providing an anonymous 0800 555 111 telephone and online service enabling the public to securely pass on information about crime to the relevant law enforcement agencies, making their communities safer.
Crimestoppers has a network of over 500 volunteers across the UK and Channel Islands, promoting the charity and raising necessary funds. The primary role of regional volunteer committees is to develop marketing campaigns to raise awareness of Crimestoppers in their local community.
Purpose
To provide integrated marketing support to assist the Crimestoppers Board in their task of promoting the charity in Jersey.
Role Description
- To be a volunteer member of the Jersey Crimestoppers Board
- To assist the Board in planning and implementing a local marketing strategy across multiple channels
- To develop promotional opportunities and ideas from conception through to delivery.
- To facilitate publicity as appropriate, as agreed with Volunteer Chair
- To be a primary Board contact for the Crimestoppers central communications team
- To coordinate and provide support at community promotional events
- To ensure that national standards are maintained in local marketing materials
- To maximise opportunities to give recognition to the charity’s local financial sponsor (NatWest).
Personal Profile
- Able to offer some skill and enthusiasm for the role
- Familiar with media or marketing principles
- Commitment to gaining understanding and maintaining personal knowledge of organisation in order to fulfil the role
- Highly motivated, ability to take initiative
- An interest in the law/policing would be beneficial but not essential.
